We’；d like you to welcome back Greg， one of the Cutting Edge Stencils owners and a creative DIYer.？ Greg loves to stencil and had a white wall that needed a dose of personality.？ Rather than put up floral wallpaperaccent pillow case baby， which can be a hassle to install and very expensive， he decided to paint a pretty pattern using a Japanese Peonies wall design.
For our visual fans， you’；re going to love this stencil tutorial that Greg put together.？ In this short video， he shows fans how easy it is to stencil an accent wall using a Japanese Peonies wallpaper stencil.
Let’；s walk through the steps for completing this project. Greg started with a freshly painted white wall.？ He decided to use our flower wall pattern， the Japanese Peonies Allover Stencil， to create a beautiful accent wall.
With his floral pattern in hand he was ready for the fun part， stenciling! Greg carefully taped the stencil to the wall.？ He used the clip-on stencil level to ensure the pattern was even on the wall.？ He used a stencil brush to paint the peony flowers in a rosy pink.
Greg made sure he brushed off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel.？ Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. He painted the leaf pattern in green using a dense foam roller.
Once the entire design was painted， he carefully removed the stencil from the wall to reveal the design.
Since the wall was not complete， Greg lined up the stencil using the interlocking pattern.？？ Our stencil designs make overlapping the previously painted part easy.
After it was lined up and taped to the wall， he continued to paint the pretty floral pattern.
When the wall was complete， Greg stepped back to admire the wall pattern. Are you ready to see his newly stenciled accent wall？？ We thought so! Here is his accent wall featuring the Japanese Peonies Stencil.
We can’；t get enough of this lush floral pattern. It certainly adds a beauty and grace to this white wall and it totally looks like wallpaper.

Floral prints are a classy addition to any space. However, they have the reputation of being a type of pattern associated with older home styles. Country kitchens tend to use florals on wallpaper. Victorian styles have floral prints on everything. Even retro spaces sometimes go for funky and artsy floral prints. But if you want a modern space, you don’t have to give up on florals completely. You can incorporate florals into the most contemporary of spaces.
Navy is a bit of a chameleon. It can be sophisticated and serene or dark and dramatic. It plays well with other colors, whether mixed with neutrals and earth tones or accented with an electric pop of pink. Navy conjures images of crisp nautical uniforms…and broken-in jeans. It can feel preppy and traditional or sexy and modern.
